Showing with MaP @ the Knit & Stitch

Some images of my installation at the Knitting and Stitching show in Aly Pally in October. It was good to re-show this piece in a different situation and in quite a different way to how it was shown in Bath. I hope it gave visitors a contemplative space in all the hustle and bustle of the show.
The film shown was 'light matter' - 21 gms of feathers. This was projected onto my old square pillowcase suspended by silk painting hooks and thread. On the opposite wall were small lightboxes with 21gms of earth (soil), water, fire (charcoal) and final one with nothing (void).
Lettering was done with old lettraset. The light boxes came from Recreate. I did buy some battery powered lights to fit inside the boxes. But I will get a lot of use out of them so I thought they were an acceptable purchase.

National zero waste week - reducing plastic

National zero waste week - reducing plastic

Back to it

Ok - school is back. Time to get back into order! I have lapsed slightly over the summer, buying swimware and surf stuff for Mia. And 1 warm top for me in the sale! I feel guilty but warm. I am inspired by this lovely lady and hope to meet her soon at the Hobbycraft show in Cardiff in October.

My daughter wants a bedroom makeover for her birthday - be gone pink! In the frenzy I have not really thought through how I am going to do this with the least new purchases possible. So if anyone has a metal daybed no longer needed...

A lovely day at Barry yesterday on the last day of the holidays. Here is our mermaid.
